As you might know, Act Locally Golden is a local group that dedicates time and effort to supporting local non-profits. The members vote on the non-profit to support the following year each year. In 2023, they selected CAG! This is a huge honor for us, and we are so grateful for their support.
One supporting event organized by Act Locally Golden happened at the end of August. The Shop for a Cause event was a great success on August 27, 2023. Over 55 people attended the event, which featured various boutique items for sale, including clothing, shoes, handbags, and household items. Attendees paid a $10 entry fee, which was donated to CAG. The event was held in the backyard of Act Locally Golden's co-founder, Janet Green, who provided food and drinks for all. Thanks to the attendees' generosity and the organizers' hard work, Act Locally Golden raised $1,615 for CAG's food pantry and the Crisis fund, which helps with rent, utilities and emergency auto repairs. In addition, Act Locally Golden donated hundreds of dollars worth of clothing and items to CAG for sale in the Thrift Store and Serving Kids, a clothing program sponsored by Jeffco Schools Foundation.
The event was an excellent way for the community to unite and support a local cause. Act Locally Golden is a non-profit organization that works to improve people's lives in Golden, Colorado.
