The holiday season was fast and busy. CAG hosted our Christmas Under the Tree Event again this year. Besides support for Christmas we also offered Thanksgiving food boxes.
We served 135 households with 254 individuals in total (197 kids) with a total cost of $48,305. We had 45 generous sponsors who adopted these households and purchased their wish list items.
We really would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our Christmas Under the Tree event sponsors. These companies/individuals managed large groups of wish list equal to 43% of the over all wish list and deserve a special shout out:

St. Joseph for donating $4000 in gift Cards
Our community partners helped CAG organize this fantastic program and we would like to give them credit too:
This year we partnered with The Cloud 96.9 radio station and offered and distributed approx. 200 Christmas trees.
Golden Poultry and Meats donated 200 fresh local turkeys for Thanksgiving. The remaining turkeys where turned into hot meals that were given out at our Christmas event.
St. Joseph Church donated $4000 in various gift cards for our Christmas program and Project Star.
Project Star helps support the homeless students at Golden High School with gift cards during the holiday and through out the school year.
Golden Safeway chose the CAG as their charity for the holiday. They offered “Turkey Bucks” and “Holiday Bucks” at check out at their register. All proceeds are exchanged for $50 Safeway gift cards. We received 386 cards/$19,300. We handed out 230 gift cards/$11,500.
The Rotary of Golden donated $1200 to help purchase food for the holiday food boxes. I put together a volunteer scavenger hunt. Volunteers teamed up and found all the many items to build the boxes. It was a lot of fun and a great way to bring volunteers together.
We'll be offering this program again in 2022!
